Notes techniques : la collection, oiseaux et petits animaux.

 

Chaque sculpture de cette collection est d’abord réalisée en plâtre. Cette œuvre originale est utilisée pour faire un premier moule, avec le quelle on fabriquera les moules de travail.

 

Lors des premières coulées, toutes les étapes du travail sont établies soigneusement et notées : Fabrication de la barbotine, coulage, temps de prise, ouverture des moules, nettoyage des joints, séchage et émaillage.

L’émaillage s’applique sur le cru ( avant cuisson ) à l’aérographe et au pinceau; les deux recettes étant conçues pour application sur argile humide. Cuisson en four électrique, cône 02.

Technical notes: The collection, birds and small animals

 

Each sculpture in this collection is first made in plaster. This original work is used to make a first mould, with which the working moulds will be made.

 

During the first castings, all the stages of the work are carefully established and noted: process of making the slip, casting, setting time, opening of the moulds, cleaning of the joints, drying and enamelling.

Enamelling is applied on raw clay (before firing) with an airbrush and a brush; both recipes being designed for this effect. When completely dry, the sculptures are fired in an electric kiln, cone 02.
